Heres a minty Phillipson Swamp Fox I picked up a while back. Looked like it had never been fished when I got it and I have only used it once. A real nice full flexing rod.

Jeff,
That looks very similar to a 7' I have, but marked 3M Rod Blank, rather than Swamp Fox. Mine's marked for a 5 or 6, but more of a 5, and is a real sweet caster at 20-30 feet, but definitely a rod for un- or lightly-weighted flies and doesn't really load well in close. Post a report when you put some more time on it. What are your planned uses for it? Bob |

Bob, I think the one time I fished it I used a 5wt thinking and that seemed to work just fine but its been a while. I have no exact plan for the rod other than I love Phillipsons and this ones a beauty. I will proabably take it out float tubing again this season either for some trout or blue gills. |

I had four piece version of this rod and probably best 5 wt Phillipson I ever had except for some they made for Orvis (Golden Eagles) and I think it was as
good as they were.
Should have never sold it. Barry |
