Well, with the exception of a broken rod or two (due to my own stupidity... thankfully nothing real special), i've been pretty good about not breaking
stuff.
that ended today.
walking out the door I was in a hurry, carrying two reels in one hand. my hand bumped the couch and i dropped both (maybe 2 feet) onto a wood floor. I immediately checked the agate in the Hardy Perfect that fell and all was OK so i breathed a sign of relief. Didnt even think to check my Young-made Orvis Battenkill Lightweight W
I was on my way to check out some rods at "The Classic Flyfisherman" in Lansdale, PA and was bringing the reels to see how they fit on a rod i was buying.
Anyway, once at the store Bob Selb (the owner) was checking out this reel and commenting how nice it was and then asked "What happened here?" I saw the break and my heart sank. It's def. fixable i think. It was mch worse but i've bent it back close to the original position.
I know i can get it lined up again. Is this a good candidate for JB Weld? I've never used it before...
It's a shame. I love this reel but haven't even fished it! I looked long and hard for one of these and when one finally popped up, i grabbed it. Guess it's officially a user and not a collector!!
