That is an easy fix, simply epoxy a piece of broken rod blank that is a good tight fit, inside the tip of the butt section. Those cracks usually happen when a rod is stepped on or when it is fished loose and ultimately comes apart. I've repaired dozens of them and never had one come back.

If you can't come up with a piece of broken blank then use a nice hardwood dowel. I would do a thread wrap over the full length of the ferrule end of the butt section to reinforce it while you work and while the glue dries. I think if you don't do a reinforcing repair there, you will ultimately have a complete loss. In fact, I wouldn't flex it hard till you fix it.
