I took a bit of a flier with this on as it was listed as an FL-860. It appears to be a nice build, and in great shape. I couldn't find any corresponding number in any of the Fenwick listings. The blank is brown like the factory rods. Anybody have a clue as to what I just bought? It was less than $30 so I am not out too much if it is a 10 wt. Did the guy have a label photo in the auction? FL would indicate a Fenwick fiberglass blank, but the 860 part doesn't make sense. Fenwick blanks had numbers that were based on the rod length in inches and the line weight (and sometimes the number of rod sections). For instance, an FL-84-5 would be 84" long and a 5 weight. It will be interesting to see what the number turns out to be. Tom

This auction started out at $.9.99 so I watched and won at the last minute. The picture, based on proportions and number of rod guides, would indicate a rod of about 8 ft. and it doesn't look overly heavy. It should be interesting. Or maybe, it is a rare fenwick 0 wt.

It needs a bit of cleaning, but is in good shape overall. The blank is honey colored with a very visible weave pattern. I put a DT6 on it and it casts really well. It is 8' 6" with a metal ferrule. It may not be a nice old fenwick as advertised, but the first impression is that it will be a very fishable rod. I'll have it at the Glassic. Perhaps someone will be able to fill in the blanks as to what I just bought.
