I have been using an 8 inch bead head bugger with rubber tail and doing pretty well on spawners....Takes an 8 wt to throw the damn thing but the big bass sure
love it. Also, I have done lousy with the Moreau fly, and it is my favorite! Been catching Sand Bass on a size 8 nickel silver hook with bead eyes and crystal
flash...no body. who knows why. Bring your size 16-14 dry flies too. When the damn fish key on them nothing else works. Also had some luck with size 14
beadhead prince nymph when they are taking the stupid mayflies. Sand Bass on Mayflies? Give me a break!!!!

Alright, I'm getting excited about this trip now! I was getting tired of nymphing for trout. Maybe we can find some stripers. Heck, I'd be glad to
catch some of those dinner-plate-sized sunfish.

OK guys, let's talk food and drinks for the Glassic. Like Barry said, let's keep it simple!! The only group meals we will have will be dinner on
Friday, breakfast on Saturday am, and then the Orion COOKOFF on Saturday night!!! I would like to have a fish fry on Friday night. Simple to do. Everyone bring
some fish to fry up. I will bring the cookers, and the Dr. Pepper Onion Rings. We will need potatoes, onions, and probably some beans to top it off. Makes for
great conversation around the campfire!!! Saturday am, I like Barry's idea of breakfast tacos. We will need eggs, cheese, onions, tomatoes, sausage, and
bacon, tortillas, hot sauce, and what ever else you guys waht to throw in. Someone will need to bring a coffee pot, or instant coffee to go with breakfast.
Can't stand that stuff!!!! Saturday, we will be the Orion Cookoff, judged by JB, and myself. Bring your cooker, load it up with your favorite cuisine, and
treat us to a slice of heaven!!! We will also have new potatoes, and corn on the cob provided by me!!! Suggestions for the cookoff would be ribs, chicken,
roasts, pork loins, or my favorite, hint, hint, brisket!!! As far as drinks go, BYOB, or BYOS, or BYOW. That's soda, and water. Barry will have the
Weed-Whack-A-Rita going, and I am sure there will be other choices available.
Here is the sign up for the plan: Condiments, Paper plates, napkins, cups, plastic ware Tortillas and cheese Sausage, and bacon Tomatoes, onions, and potatoes Fish filets, bring for the masses Large bag of french fries, frozen Large institutional size can of Van Kamps Pork, and Beans. They work the best!!! Coffee Can someone talk their sweetie to make some cole slaw?? Bring your own meat for the cookoff, and plan on sharing, too!!! If I forgot anything, please add, or recommend to the group. Thanks, Russell |

vanvan,
Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! Attending a Glassic is probably the best way to learn a lot about glass fly rods quickly. Enjoy! Tom |

I'll bring potatoes and my fry cutter, peanut oil, and my cooker. I also have plates and plastic ware and I'll get some more.
I have not been successful in getting any crappie due to the hurricane winds we've had up here. I hope to catch a bunch of those big ole bluegill Thursday and filet them. I will bring my camp coffee maker and coffee plus sugar, sweet-n-low and creamer. I'll also throw lots of food stuff in the chuck box. We won't go hungry. Can't believe it's next week. :-)

Is the water going to be warm enough for wet wading, or should we bring waders?
|

Bud |

I have been wading wet....but I guess it depends on your tolerance. Water has been running about 66 degrees.
