I want to outfit my vintage Eagle Claw Featherlight 3.0oz, 6'6", 2/1, 5wt;
with a vintage "EC" model Eagle claw reel. The aesthetics would be *perfect*.
And although new to reels of Hardy-ish design, I really like them.
(I've got a Diawa 730 and a System 1 456 in my arsenal now....)
The EC-10 is 2 7/8", the EC-11 is 3 1/8".
I think the smaller of the 2 would be better for weight balance,
but can it handle a full-length (90ft.) DT5F line? Room for backing?
I saw a photo of the papers for this series of reels in this forum somewhere,
and it lists the capacity of the EC-10 as "5WT";
but wanted to verify it means DT5F and not WF5F...
