Pawn shop find. |

I found this never used, made in the USA, new in box, Ross Cimarron No. 2 reel with backing and Orvis W5F-F line in a pawn shop this morning for $20. The line
alone is worth more than what I paid for the whole deal.
I really love days like this.

That's criminal... it wouldn't have been criminal if I'd found it... but that's just criminal ;-)

Thanks for your comments gents. When you think of all the classic fly fishing equipment that could be out there in all the thrift shops, pawn shops and garage
sales. You could almost double you enjoyment of the hobby by hunting for old fishing stuff when your not fishing. How many of you folks are on the look out
for classic used geear?

Nowadays there will likely be more goodies in such places. I was looking in one the other day and that the place was packed with people. I scored a Fenwick
FF807, an old Pflueger 1494 and good line.
You got the deal of the year methinks. |

Joe, great find. Here on the North end of town I've had pretty good luck with rods, but I've never found a reel worth a second look. Maybe I need to
expand my search area.

Cofisher all of my treasure hunting is south of Colfax, I never knew there were pawn shops north of town. LOL.

Nice find. We all love coming across those deals...but...and I am not neccessarily indicating that this is neccessarily the case..Personally,
I would be "suspicious" of the origin. Assuming a 20% mark up, someone went to a pawn shop to unload a reel with a value of around $200 for $16?
Then, as a vendor of said pawn shop, why sell for so little? Call me chicken, but I'd be afraid of the mojo.

Joe, I guess that's the difference between the North end and the South end. Lots of pawn shops here filled with power tools. I guess we know where the
money is don't we?
