What is your gut feeling about this grip. Is this something that will stick in your throat as "boy I would buy that rod but for that awful grip." Is
this a "wow, I really like the look of that grip, never seen one quite like that." Or is it something in between. Does it have a funky trendy look,
or would you characterize it as a classic look. Do you find yourself scratching your head and saying, "what the hell is that knob there for." Does it
make you feel the grip is a playing around kind of thing a back yard hacker would do. What I'm getting at is this something that will encourage you to buy
the rod or something that will discourage you from buying it.
Give me your gut feeling. No, you aren't going to hurt my feelings. Tossing stuff around and talking the pros and cons is what I thrive on. The only thing that could possibly hurt my feelings is if you don't tell me how you feel and you instead talk around outside the forum with stuff you wish you would have said here.
As for the name, what I was looking for was if anyone had ever seen a similar grip referred to with some name. The only thing I think comes close is "modified half wells," which of course could be most anything. I don't think I'll call it the "peckerhead grip." (G)
