Here is a nice wild brown taken from White Top Laurel Creek in South West Virginia on Saturday january 10, 2009. It was a nice way to start 2009. Rod used is a Steffen 8' 3-4 weight 3 piece. [Edit: Made the photo a bit bigger - Yuku tends to spit up thumbnails sometimes instead of the full size photo. Tom]

Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! That's a nice fish to start the year right! I just started building a Steffen 8 foot, 3/4 weight, 3 piece blank myself. I'm looking forward to having it ready for action by this spring. What line do you like with it? TOm |

I like a WF 4 weight with my Steffen 8' 3-4. The stream was running high and clear, and I had time to fish one run. I caught the trout on the sixth cast.
My friend Yeti usually catches trout like this. I tend to get all the dinks.

I'm very blessed to live in a part of Virginia with access to many great fishing locations. I have caught few fish that size, though it is nice to fish
places where the chance does exist.
