I especially like the rear drag knob. How do others feel about this reel? I think there were different materials used over the years, but don't know much about the background. Any other fans out there, or am I out of the loop on this one? Glenn

I'll have to check the exact name when I get home. It is a 1000 (UL) all graphite, rear drag, that casting trigger thing on the bail. I used and abused that little reel for several years, catching hundreds of Smallmouth Bass on it. I own three Shimano's and never had problems with them. This UL had a "Fighting Drag" on the rear drag. You could set it to your preferred setting, and tighten/loosen it and always return it to the preferred setting without even looking down at it. Now, I'm a Diawa man, and really prefer the top drag. Tom.

I think I got it in a blister pack a big-mart type store. But I like the push button ease of changing spools. If I had my choice, I'd get a front drag reel; they're smoother than rear drag. But I've never had a problem with this one, so it's a keeper. Regards, Peter
