Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations for a decent click and pawl reel. I have 2 Steffen Brothers glass rods coming in January and am looking for a click/pawl reel to use on them. I've used disc drag reels almost exclusively but want to get "back to basics"...disc just isn't necessary for the type of fishing I typically do. Thanks for any help! Happy Holidays, S

The click-drag adjustment is progressive rather than having distinct detents created by flats on the adjuster cam, but that's a design choice, and some users prefer that over distinct steps. If I had to get only one size, it would be the 5-6, still a relatively small, light reel that would be fine with a DT 4 or 3 and more versatile for heavier lines. I believe it was made by Daiwa and it is a solid performer and looks nice to boot - (excellent condition). If you are interested I could let it go for $50.

They haven't been made for a while now, but still show up from time to time. Fishing with bait is like swearing in church.

Often I have been exhausted on trout streams, uncomfortable, wet, cold, briar scarred, sunburned, mosquito bitten, but never, with a fly rod in my hand have I been in a place that was less than beautiful.
