Registered Member Posts: 1 (12/04/08 19:49:22) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Hi Fellas, I recently came into posession of a Wonderrod blank... sort of a cream or off white blank... it's a 7 footer.. the only thing on the rod is the Shakespeare Wonderrod label.. no guides, no grip, etc... but it does have its ferrule in tact... a light green anodized aluminum ferrule as best I can tell....can anyone tell me whether Shakespeare had specific thread colors it used on these rods or am I free choose whatever color I'd like... I'd prefer to make the rod look as close to original as possible.. thanks for your replies. ron

Unlike the Presidential and Professional series, the ones I've seen only use one color thread. The all metal reel seats are often the same color as the ferrule.

Hopefully one of the local experts will chime in, we have lots of "experts" here. Those rods got wrapped in many colors. But my fav Wonderod color combo was the red/black they used. Keith

You are in the right place ! Sounds like a sweet little blank. The best thing for you to do is go to the top of this page and look on the upper right of the page for the forum search link. Type in Shakespeare Wonderrod and 3 pages of Shakespear will come up with 43 topics posted . Pictures, rod remakes. etc you will find tons of information. We have a good number of Wonderrod lovers here that I am sure will answer your question as well. The ferrule color will dictate what color thread you will need the pictures here will give you wrap styles and reel seat and grip design. It may have been a all cork reel seat with rings to match the ferrule color or a couple other reel seats they used. In the mean time I have some Wonder rods I will see if I have any photo's or try to find some time to shoot some. You can more than likely find what you are looking for quicker by using the search. Be sure to click on all forums so you get the Pictures and Collectible rods and the rest as well in the search. I hope have been some help. I happen to like the way they look in this color so if it was me, that's what I'd use. The 7' 1245 Panfish Special would be one example. There's a good chance that's what you have.

Green looked good. However, to be honest I didn't like the brown tipping and thought black would have been better.
