I'd packed the Fenwick Voyageur FF 856-5. The length helped for casting, as I didn't have any waders. Some here use ladders, but with a bit of
overcast and a mild breeze to riffle the surface, the Lahontons prowl close to the shoreline. I was able to catch a nice one, around 22" but didn't
have my camera, so when my buddy caught this one I had to get a picture of it with my rig.
A good pack rod often makes the difference between fishing or not. I really like this fenwick FF856-5 for all round western trout fishing.
