Does anyone know where can I get Orvis Superfine slide ring style? Not necessary Orvis but any brand similar to that would be fine.
Thanks in advance

www.jannsnetcraft.com......... item # 250-734
or www.dorber.com; get the toll number and ask them if they have any to sell. They use them on their little brush rods and they cost about 10-$12 bucks for the set-p- |

Several years ago Orvis still had some they were willing to sell. May be worth giving them a call.

If you're talking about the modern black aluminum rings, I recommend the slightly wider style used on the last generation (brown) Superfines, not the
really thin ones used on the current 1 and 2wt Superfine Trout Bums and older "one ounce" rods, or the knurled stainless ones used on the oldest
graphite and bamboo Superfines. The good black ones are tapered and do a much better job of holding the reel on the seat without digging into the cork. The
really thin black ones will work, just not as well, and the stainless ones will tear up your reel foot and cork. None of them weigh enough to worry about. All
three were available from the Orvis rod making shop for small $$, last I checked. -CC PS. The really thin black rings excel at one application--mounted
directly against the base of your grip, they make a great combination cork check and front ring (just grind out a little cork to allow the reel foot to be
inserted 1/8in or so). Use the wider black ring for the "traveler" on this "up-sliding" seat. The weight of your reel will tend to keep the
lower ring locked on tightly.

Wow!!! Thanks for the responses guys, I really appreciate it.
The one recommended by Pearow for jannsnetcraft quite nice and inexpensive. I already bought the one similar to rickords but from CoteFlyshop. I was thinking to turn my own reel seat using cork and slide ring like superfine style is very nice, but after looking at the one from Cortland recommended by glassblenderm, I think I will try that one. I do agree with crosscreekone that the thin slide ring digging into cork reel seat especially if we push it too hard, I have it on my FF60. Anyway, thanks guys Al |

In the past I have gotten them from REC Components. You might give them a try also.
