I have a multi-piece rod Jones. Buy cast fish sell. If rod intentionally comes in three or more pieces, I love it -- even when I don't end up liking it. Here are most of the Production Rods (excluding McFarland, Steffen, Andy Manchester and Dave Lewis) that I have tried. Only my opinion. If I think it is worth having for $ I put a * by it. Your mileage may vary.

Fenwick FF756-4* -- Very nice rod for $ (110-150) -- high end of blue collar, a little crisp in a good way
FF806-4 -- Also nice rod for $ (110-150) - Doesn't feel quite as versatile as the FF756-4, a definite 6 wt -- It just did not click for me.
FF858-5* -- Also nice rod for $ (90-150) - Used for Snook with a 1595 1/2 and alot of fun (Tom has this rod now)

Hardy Smuggler

8 ft 6 wt 4 piece and 8 ft 8 wt 4 piece (250 + )--Overrated for the $. Felt a bit tip heavy and needed a heavy reel, also a little fast/stiff for line weights.

Scientific Anglers

8 ft 6 wt 5 piece System 6 - Good Plus Rod - Worth $ (180 - 200 +)* -- I liked it a lot, smoother than the Smuggler and more feel.

Wright McGill

Trailmaster 7 wt - 4 piece ( $50 )* -- Like it, esp. for $ on the bargain end -- Also nice w/ a 6 line

Ted Williams 7'9" 8 wt -- 4 piece -- Stiff, a curtain rod, too much at most any price.

Wonderod 1390 -- Nice rod w/ 8 wt line, but not great ($ 40-120). Gives a nice amount feedback. This and a 1290 really taught me how to feel to double haul.

Diamondglass 8' 5 wt 3 piece ($ 300) Nice modern rod for the $, slower than I wanted, but this was early on in my glass experience. It failed for me as eye candy, I did not love the black blank (Worth owning, but not at a premium.)

Silaflex -- Back Packer Perfexion 7' 10" 4 piece and Medallion 7' 10" 4 piece. ($70 - 130) -- Some of the prettiest rods if I have had. I could never quite match them to the right line for my casting stroke, but nice rods.

Berkley Buccaneer 7 ft 5 piece, 5 & 6 wt* -- ($ 40 - 60) Recently picked these up for my use and for my daughters to use at Grandpa's pond, they seem like solid blue collar travel rods, both with a WF6F line, regardless of designation. Great little panfish rods, a little clunky, but not bad at all for the price. Closer to 6 ft 9 in. in length.

Garcia -- I have had a couple of these. The all metal ferruled rods were too clunky and the cast lost a lot progressing through the rod. I also had a 5 star, 5 piece with 3 spigot ferrules and a tip over butt tip. These were quite nice at 6-7 wt. I would recommend the 5 star rod, but couldn't put a price range on it. I could not recommend the metal ferruled rod.

Just some thoughts. As I said, your mileage may vary.

I no longer have the rod. I have had a couple. If I recall correctly, all were the later glass and a plastic triangle tube instead of the round metal.
