OK guys, the votes are in and have been tallied. Soβ¦β¦β¦the winner isβ¦β¦β¦ the first weekend in October (10/3-5/08) on the Brazos River.
The Campground is about 10 miles or so down river from the Whitney Dam and has excellent access to the river. Bud also told me that there was a lot of area to wade fish. He also said that is a very nice/clean place. This Campground has spots for Tent camping as well as trailers. If one doesn't want to camp, there are a few Motels within easy driving distances (in West or Hillsboro).
The fees for camping are as follows:
Tent Camping - $8.00 per tent per day
Trailer Camping - $15.00 per day
We have to get a list together so that Bud can make the arrangements with the owner of the Campground.
The fishing ought be good as the water temps are getting cooler and the fish should be feeding up for winter.
The weather should be comfortable for those of us that will be tent camping.
We'll at least one Orion Smoker going (but probably more) for doing Briskets and Ribs, and the Weedwackarita will be fueled and ready for Adult beverages.
