I've put down a deposit on getting a lamiglas 7' 3wt built and would like to know what anyone with this rod uses for a line. I was considering a cortland sylk DT3, only because I use this line on my go to rod, a FF79. I've only ever used older fiberglass rods.Now I want a fun light rod for playing with the pan fish. Next question, is anyone using an Islander reel. I'm thinking of picking up an IR1 for the rod. More than I'd usually care to spend, but it's my 40th this Sunday and I figure I deserve it. I have a two piece, 7 foot, 3 weight. I think it casts a WF3 or a WF4 line just fine. The DT3 Sylk should be a good fit too. I like a DT5 on my FF79. So I think you will find the Sylk on the Lamiglas is a slower casting stroke. You will also find the Lami is fun and light. I use a 2.3 oz White River Classic Ultralight on mine. You're really going to like that Lamiglass three weight...and matching it with an Islander reel is going to be some serious "bling" for that rod! Please post photos. Rio Selective Trout II in a DT. Very supple in the cold and great in the heat. Tip floats like it's supposed to. Pair it with a furled leader and you have a great combination.

I can't remember what line I fished it with before. It now has a shiny new rod tube and sock to live in. It did not come with one from Lamiglas. I was using a Cortland Dynatip DT5f on my SA System 5 the other night and it seemed like a good match. I'm pretty impressed with the SA System series of rods.

Seems lots of people don't like the sylk, I'm happy to see it gets some support here. I've been meaning to try the wulff TT as well. I'm having the rod built by a shop in east Toronto, Angling specialties. A gentleman named George there has a good following. I'd like to do it myself but have a little to much work on the house to do. Wifey would not be happy. It would bite into my fishing time.
