Out of curiosity, I grabbed a few other rods for comparison. I bounced each one as if making a forward cast without the line. My FF76 rebounded to neutral position and stopped dead still. My Phillipson MF80 also didn't have a secondary bounce, but the tip moved around in small circles after the rod straightened. Hmm. I always thought the that my line looked wiggly when I used the Phillipson.
Which glass rods dampen well, which continue to wag like a dog's tail, and does it make much difference to the cast?
