Question about Cortland's Leon Chandler Rods |
Lead | |
|
I do not have my Johnson book with me so I can't answer this, maybe someone can. A 1981-1982 Cortland Leon Chandler with spiggot ferrules. Did Fisher make
the blanks for these ? Did the all the Cortland Chandler models have spiggot ferrules ?

According to Johnson, Chandler rods were made in the early 80s and they had "internal ferrules" which I take to mean spigots. Johnson indicates that
Cortland had rods made for them by Fisher, St. Croix, and US Fiberglass. He doesn't indicate which company made the Chandler rods, but I've never seen
a St. Croix rod with spigots.

Note: Cortland Leon Chandler signature rods were made in both graphite and fiberglass. The Chandler glass rods are definitely Fisher blanks. Nicely finished, too- better than any other glass Fisher-blank trade rod I've seen. I sold one to "JeffSod" on this board. I think he still has it. I still have a couple of glass Fisher-blank Hardys- an 8 1/2' Fibatube with a 2" short tip, and a 9' JET. Neither are finished as cleanly as that Leon Chandler. |

Thanks guys. The one I was interested in would only be glass.
