I just got the DVD "The Lost World of Mr. Hardy". The film is excellent and one of the most interesting parts was Jim Hardy commenting on glass rods. He said that the older management of the company was so reluctant to change that when fiberglass rods were first introduced they intentionally made bad rods. The logic was that if Hardy could not make a decent rod from fiberglass then it was not a suitable material for fly rods. I just thought that was interesting. I am not sure what year(s) this was or what models. Anyone ever heard of any glass Hardy's that were particularly poor performers?
