Hi Kim, there are some differences between your reel and mine even tho they are the same size, 3 1/2". I have my pawl on the other post but it feels and
sounds the same rhw or lhw. Hmmmm. Your spool and knob screws are chrome and mine are brass. The posts on your reel are chrome and mine are grey. ALso, the
reel rim is knurled on yours but not on mine. This is curious. I just noticed that your reel's foot appears to be shorter than mine. I also just noticed
that the top of the spring on your reel is straight , but mine is curved. This is curious. These are nice reels, heavy enough for the older fiberglass rods. I
use mine on a solid glass H-I.

hi Paul, I could flip the pawl and the retrieve and pay seems to be the same pressure.
It is weird that the same model reel could have differences in components. The reel is not loud??? The reel will go well with my 8wt Fenwick. |

I guess it is loud. I have a profound hearing loss in both ears to loud is muted to me, but the reel is a lot noisier than many of my others. Hey, it will look
choice on your Fenwick.
Yes, it is weird alright. FlyfishingPastor has a 3 1/4" Gordon, but he does not post much. |

There may be little difference in feel, but as shown, that's set LHW. The RHW position would be with the spring in the opposite direction and the pawl,
turned over, installed on the other post.

they are very large capacity.
Rarer is the 3-1/8" reel, which is narrow and small capacity.

I noticed another difference. The knob on my reel is flared on the end making it ez to grip.

some of them have clear amber handles, which look really sharp.

When not fishing fiberglass I most often fish the Sharpe's Scotty impregnated bamboo. Over the years I've also accumulated a few of the Sharpe's
Gordon reels, in 3-1/8", 3.5" regular, and 3.5" wide sizes.
-And if anyone needs any parts for 3.5" Gordons, other than the pawl springs, contact me.
