It's a really beautiful area with pastures and towering peaks. Many of the local ranchers have either sold out or opened working dude ranches.

The owner of the cabins we stayed at told of a "secret" fishing spot. We weren't the first people she told. There was a well used trail to the water, including rock steps.

The next day we hiked to Lower Cataract Lake. I fished the inlet and Pam continued walking and taking pictures. At the end of the day we went back to our
"secret spot."


The following day we hit the Blue again...this time we ventured out into the still runoff swollen waters. I'd like to say I caught dozens of fish, but I
only hooked up once. Pam on the other hand found a nice place to stand and get a perfect drift along side the bank. She had hit after hit, finally landing
her first trout on a fly rod, quickly followed by several more. I was humbled.
