I just finally signed up here this evening, and I just wanted to post a message to say hello and let everyone know how useful this message board has been for me. I've been reading this board for months and have to admit that I've gotten more useful information here about fiberglass rods than anywhere else on the net. Over the the course of the last year or so I have acquired an addiction for Phillipson glass rods (I know, I read messages here that told me it would happen) and have become very interested in them. I started fly fishing in the early 60's. My first fly rod my father got for me back then was a Fenwick FF75 and a year or two later I acquired a FF70 that had just the most beautiful action that anyone could ever want. I still have both of those rods and have kept them in excellent condition. Lately I have been acquiring a few Phillipsons. I don't quite know what it is, but there is something about the feel of these rods that makes them very unique. Anyway, the information that I've gotten here about the Phillipsons has been quite helpful, especially the info from jgestar and a few others. I hope that I will be able to share some meaningful info in the future.
