have a chance to buy one but don't know what it is worth. It is in very good condition. The guy said to make an offer. ?

Typically around $100-125 if it is in really good condition with the bag and rod tube. No nicks on the glass, no repairs, no replaced wraps.
They are marked for #6 lines, but try a DT5 with it and see what you think. Tom |

thank you, Tom. I will cast it several times then keep it or sell it.

Great rod...if it's one of the earlier models with the transluscent brown glass, you might even try it with a 4...mine certainly has that airy, lively feel
when a bit "underlined."

CreationBear, thanks for the tip.

The translucent FF70s are some of the best rods they ever made for small streams and intimate environments.

I finally fished it and found it to be just right for my small river. I was really able to work this rod much to my delight. The upper portion of the rod is a
lighter color (?), but there is no doubt as to the utility of it. It will roll cast and also give me plenty of distance. Fenwick sure had "it" right
all those years ago.

RT--
Glad to see you pulled the trigger on the deal--there's just something unique about its action, I think: a kind of lively, "springy" feel. Nice with a fish on, too, as I hope you're finding out... |

yes it is springy but not wimpy - it is easy to control

Rockthief,
They had it right even earlier than you think. If you ever come across a very early Fenwick 315 that was made on a Grizzly blank...you will recognize that sweet action. These rods were made even before the translucent blanks we like so well. It is amazing to me that some of those small, fine rods were made, and survived when the standard man's rod was a 7 or 8 wt.
