I'm strictly warmwater at this time. I sneak in my fishing when I can and I'm surrounded by small ponds in my home area. Most of my fishing this year has been in a community pond whilst daughter has soccer practice. Not many large fish but beats sitting in the car. My oldest wants to attend college in upstate NY, so when she goes in another year I anticipate a lot of opportunistic trout fishing.
I too am curious about comparing the two rods. The metal ferruled models appear to feature larger reel seats and my 7 1/2' 6/7 seems faster than my 8' fiberglass ferruled model.
I let you know what I think once it arrives.
