The first fish was a feisty rainbow about 11" long, and the Steffen rod let him put a nice bend in it. But it was the second fish that really made me smile: it was an 18" rainbow that weighed about 2 1/2 lbs., and he had the Steffen bent in the full U a few times, but still was tamed very quickly. A few more rainbows of 10-11" and one husky cutthroat about 13" topped off the morning.
Anyway, I love this rod! Superb tippet protection, but still with some horsepower and versatility! I can't wait to get it out on some rivers, but it's going to the Rockies this Friday for 4 or 5 days on a few more lakes for grayling and cutthroat. Life is good!
