Jeff, that's great! One of my favorite early season flies is just a small white soft hackled streamer, size 2 or 4-good match for small bait. Ray's fly
is great, and so are flatwings-they create bulk without extra weight... good for big, but easy casting herring imitations around creek mouths.
Late May and the first half of June...prime time for big and hungry fish. You guys are lucky!

Got skunked! Too many boats in the flats....one guy said he counted 40 boats and that the fishing was good for about 5 minutes earlier in the morning - then
the boats "put them down". Guess that's the hazards of weekend fishing out there.
