This one arrived in the mail today. The pictures do not show have beautiful this reel is. And wow does it ever sing! This is a keeper.
It is a Japanese 2300 machined reel, serial #02489
Although it is not new I cannot find any wear on it.

ah Jeff thanks for asking. It is precisely 3" in diameter and the spool is 3/4". It purrs as nice or even sweeter than the SA System 6 I am debating
keeping or selling. You will notice that the 2300 has the adjustable drag with the C.R.I. on the adjustment knob. ALso, Ron's 2100 - the reel foot is
ventilated but my 2300 is not. I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon this reel.
