Hi All;
I have two pro crest models, a 7 1/2' 6/7 wt,metal ferrule model 1-691-1 and a recently aquired 8' 6wt fiberglass tip over but ferrule, model 1-620-1.
Some interesting differences in finsh: both rods have identical cork grips the 7 1/2 has smaller diameter reel seat(0.627"od) with brass finish on seat with contrasting brown metallic hard ware, the 8' reel seat is larger in diameter(0.728") all brown metallic finish. The 7 1/2 has a brass finished winding check and the 8' has a plastic winding check, 5 guides on 7 1/2' , 8 guides on 8'. Both rods are similar blackish brown color with chocolate brown wraps and black painted wiinding accents.
The 7 1/2' rod casts a 6wt line for me whilst a 7wt line seems to overload it in my opinion. I haven't tried out the 8' rod yet but have cast one that
Rifflinehitch owns and I think he uses a 5wt line on his and it casts well with that.
Anyone have any more information on these rods?
Thanks in advance;
Waynebh
