I finally got to fish my 1-620-1 8' Procrest on Sunday, and it is my new best friend. Sounds identical to yours. Does yours have a wodden plug inside the fiberglass at the end of the male ferrule? Never had a rod with that before. The Procrest I have is rated for a 5/6. In the morning I fished a F6WF on a Pflueger Medalist 1494, drifting and swinging a pair of caddis pupae. One was a beadhead, one was a wet fly. I was very pleased with how I could cast roll cast, mend, and feed line. Handled two 16" browns well, too. In the afternoon, I switched to a F5WF spooled on a Pflueger 1494 1/2., and fished a single elk hair caddis to rising fish. I was in more shallow water, and could wade a little closer to my targets. 5WF seemed just dandy for dry fly fishing. My only problem with the rod was that right out of the shipping tube the reel seat butt cap, which also is the hood that captures and holds the lower reel foot, popped off. There was very little glue in there. I scratched up the inside of the cap with some sandpaper to give the glue a better grip, and used 5 minute epoxy to reglue it. All good. The only other glass 5/6 I have to compare it to is a 7 1/2 foot Cortland FR-2000. Tough choice as to which one I would use for trout and panfish! They fish very similar, and very well. I bet you will like yours.
