Just picked up System 10, new in tube (Looks like reel never on it). Any idea what current market value might be on this rod?
Thanks--Barry |

Probably about $75-125. The really big System rods don't seen to sell as high as the 4s and 5s.
SA System rods are another little secret around here that we shouldn't go talkin' up too loud! Tom |

I concur with Tom. Depending on condition I have seen them go between 50-125
Makes a great saltwater rod. Joe Locke (an old member here who I haven't seen in a long time) fishes these rods in the salt a lot. The system 10 really is a nice rod. Most glass rods that size get way too heavy. |

Looks like I paid on the high end--might have to keep it. I already have the six, so maybe just small start to System rod collection.

I've just begun using my SA 7 glass in saltwater, and it's working out just fine.

I paid $65.00 + shipping for a system 10 on ebay last month. Rod came with tube & cloth rod bag. the rod is in good to excellent condition.
I think the higher weight system rods don't bring as much as the 6 weights and below. A six weight with spotted/deteriorating finish sold same week for $172.00 I purchased a System 7 a couple weeks prior that had a thumb indent and name engraved in grip for $48.00. the ferrule was a little loose but a thin coat of epoxy on the male part fixed that. Even though it's not in great collector shape, it fishes great and is my favorite rod of late. I love the action of these rods! Now I need to start hunting down matching reels and of course the rest of the system rods! Waynebh |

I fished my system 7 a few weeks ago and was just amazed by the slow, effortless, long-distance casts

Slow-effortless!!! You got my attention. I am not satisfied with my 9010 and 9310. First and subsequent impressions are that this won't work for me. Like
to try something else. G

Hi Bulldog1935;
When you say slow,effortless cast are you implying that the rod action is slow? If anything I'd say for fiberglass the system rods are on the fast side, although the action is unique and definetly an effortless cast! Waynebh |
