        <![CDATA[ Out of idle curiosity, I was wondering how many of you have spouses/significant others who fish with you and do they use glass, graphite or cane?


My wife is fairly hardcore...um, let me rephrase that...my wife loves to fly fish and doesn&#39;t miss a road trip.  She uses graphite, knows I use glass and
cane but hasn&#39;t shown any interest in switching or even trying the others.  Should I introduce her to them or consider myself lucky that she isn&#39;t
begging to use my favorites or... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ I say be thankful she loves flyfishing with you. I know first hand what it&#39;s like to lose some of my favorite rods. I&#39;ve lost 2 lamiglas drift type
rods (graphite) and 2 of my glass fenwick gear rods to my wife. She got hooked, fell in love with my backup rods, and I can&#39;t have them back (as she says).

I learned fly fishing from my best friend&#39;s family who had also fished for generations. I recall his wife fly fishing for bluegills on occasion. The best,
however, was that my best friend&#39;s dad had a bit of a regional reputation for his casting prowess and would give presentations in high school gyms around
the state. The big finale was for his wife to stand with a cigarette in her mouth at one end of the gym and he would snatch it out with a 50&#39; cast. Now... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ It was a pre-requisite that I learn to fly fish before marrying into my wife&#39;s family, which has fly-fished for generations.

With 3 young children now, we don&#39;t fish together too often unfortunately. But when we do, after 30 minutes without a strike or fish, she&#39;s typically
put her rod down and is birding with her binoculars in hand.

That said, most of her fishing needs are met with an early Orvis Far &amp; Fine 5 wt and a Scott F-703/2. Yeah, I been known to... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Last year I bought a mint 1980s 8&#39; Fenwick graphite thinking it was glass...it wasn&#39;t. But, it was such a sweet rod that I decided to keep it and added
it to my wife&#39;s arsenal. She asked why when the other rod was still good. (9&#39; St Croix) She still doesn&#39;t understand the purpose of a boatload of
rods and reels.

			<description><![CDATA[ My girlfriend is just starting the whole flyfishing thing. The first rod I stuck in her hand was fiberglass. She doesn&#39;t know the difference between
glass/grass/broomsticks, but she did fish the Granger you sold me over the weekend.

By the way, the rod&#39;s name is Cofisher! I don&#39;t care what rod she ends up with, it is just a blessing she is out there casting away with me without
complaining!

I&#39;m one of those fly fishing wives.

Must confess, I started fly tying first, ONLY as a way to enable my husband to fish ... had to find <span style="text-decoration:underline">something</span>
for him to do after he retired, so he wasn&#39;t hanging around the house all the time.

First time, however, that I flung that fly .... well ... it was all over but the shouting! He now ties his own flies, I tie mine ... and I build all our rods,
graphite, glass and bamboo,... ]]></description>

rod.the only other graphite rod i have is a sage that she &quot;prefers not to use.&quot;she doesn&#39;t have an interest inusing my glass or grass rods,but is

			<description><![CDATA[ My wife loves to fish and has picked fly fishing up from me. She use graphite and has kind of taken &quot;possession&quot; of my T&amp;T LPS. My wife isn&#39;t
as devoted to it as I am and isn&#39;t physically up to the demands of a lot of water, but we find ways to make do. I&#39;m happy to have around even when
helping her takes time away from when I could be working a hole. We see it as a chance to be together.

away some too, and I fish a lot more places without her, places that require heavy wading, or rough hikes, or just plain slow fishing.

and being in the passenger seat by the time I got the lights hooked up. Guys I&#39;m telling you; after a while I couldn&#39;t even look at it without her
