I am a newbie looking to purchase a knock around fiberglass rod. I was looking at a Fenwick versus a DiamondGlass. I basically fish small trout streams in
PA. Any advise on a rod? Thanks to all.

If you're fishing the limestone streams, I'd do with a Diamondglass for 3 or 4 weight. For freestones, an early model FF75, FF75-4, FF806-4, or FF84
for 5/6 weight will work fine. The first 3 are often rated as 5/6 or #6 rods, but they work best with #5 line, in my experience. I find both the FF755 and
FF756 to be a bit on the fast side, and more like 6 weight rods in my hand.

My vote is for the Fenwick as well. Only because I've never cast a Diamondglass. I'll guess they are really sweet rods, but my Fenwick FF755 is tough
to beat.

That's easy!

(vintage) Fenwick for 5wt.
Diamondglass (or Japanese Fenwick) for 3/4wt.

pick yer poison!
(they're all good...)

the vintage rod will be a lot easier on your pocketbook, BTW.

Although, certainly don't limit yourself to just those two makers,
when making this decision. Check the wiki database here,
for a wealth of info on Fiberglass Rods, past and present.
