make.

I just checked my Orvis catalog from 1972. Riffling Hitch already told you the info I have in the catalog.
Are you gonna put those cool ferrule rings on your builds?

Thanks alot Doc BD
I really don't mind the color now that I've gotten used to them. They look OK with the emerald green that Orvis used. The first one I built I used dark
chestnut and it ain't pretty. I'm going to try green and white two thread wraps on one of these to see how that looks. The 11# will probably get the
emerald. Now if I can come up with a couple green aluminium down lockers I'll be golden.

I wish that Orvis would have made the Golden Eagles a more pleasant color like the full flexes maybe. That snot green is not very pretty.

I have an old Orvis catalog from the early '70s; I'll look into it and see if I can glean some helpful info for you.

BTW, I kinda like the color of the Orvis GEs. It's a nice change of pace from the ubiquitous...

Thanks Russel, I think I'll tape on some guides and see what I get. Might work out for a fly rod if not I've got a new spinning rod, though I have
faith that at least the light tip will work like the SPG720.

They made a two tip 7' GE spinning rod with a light tip (L) and a medium tip (M). I do not know if they made a two tip fly rod but someone had a custom
wrapped two tip GE that I think was 8'. It may have been a spinning rod blank. Sorry I could not help more.
