the 7'6" #3 is a DOG! I tried it with a WF3, DT3 and WF4 and found it wasn't to my liking with any of those lines. Maybe I shoulda tried a DT4?

Mr. freestoner- I'll bet that this grip shape became the standard one nowadays just because it has a kind of racy look to it, so anglers go for it. Just
like sports cars and blondes. It's not a bad shape functionally especially on light rods (and it hides the uplocking reel seat hood), but I agree that
other shapes are better. I personally prefer to use the Garrison grip, the Wells grip, and the cigar grip and find that these are also pleasing to my
old-fashioned eyes. But try to...

Marshall,

Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! You put your finger on the thing I like least about Diamondglass factory rods - the grip. Most of the Dglass models
were built with the Western Superfine grip style. I agree, it was worth voiding the warranty to get a more suitable rod grip.

I'm beyond frugal but the 8 1/2' 4wt was so sweet I had my favorite grip/reel-seat installed (NS cap/ring w/torpedo grip). This is the ONLY rod I have
modified over the years and years of acquiring. The warranty is of course void but the mod was beyond worth it! At least at the age of 60 a lot of purchases
are considered lifetime but a grandson will very much appreciate getting this one.

Diamondglass isn't a big enough product to fit Cortland's business model. The volume isn't there. When the line first came out, they sold a
lot of rods to fly shops. But the shops didn't sell a lot of rods to
customers. After a year or so, the shops dumped the Dglass at near cost. This glut of good glass helped fuel the fiberglass revival.

If Cortland were to resurrect the Diamondglass line they would most likely be made in Korea or where ever their line of graphite rods is manufactured. They
would then be competing with Hardy for fiberglass rod sales, although at probably a lower cost. I don't think that would be a successful venture for
Cortland.

Would you buy a Diamondglass rod made in Korea? One of the things I liked about the rod was that it was made in the U.S. (Vermont). Perhaps they could just
sell blanks...

interest in fiberglass. I'm just putting the finishing touches on a 8' 4 wt. blank from Hook & Hackle, and the lawn casting shows this to be a
sweet rod. Cortland's management must have trained at GM.

Dglass stock from the Vermont factory. As Boo noted, the 8'6", 4 weight and the 8', 5 weight aren't on the page. Neither is the 5', 2
