I&#39;ve got a &#39;non-glare tan&#39; Riffle blank to wrap,

and am having trouble deciding on thread color(s).


I&#39;m just more accustomed picking colors for a traditional tabacco (or darker) fiberglass blank.

I have a bunch of thread colors on-hand, and started doing some test wraps and finish last night.

The problem is, there wasn&#39;t one color that stood-out among the rest, where I immediately said: &quot;That&#39;s the one!&quot;

your grip and over all color combo, lastly your hook keeper is simple yet distinctive. Come to think of it, I used one just like it on my very first rod build

here&#39;s a few teaser pics of the build so far.

I&#39;ve only assembled the reel seat, grip, and winding-check;

and wrapped the butt section guides and hook-keeper.

After much experimentation with different thread colors,

on a whim, I stumbled across a nifty 2-thread combination of Dark Brown and Tan.
<br>
The result is something like a Jasper thread, but the 2 colors are a bit more separated and prominent.

			<description><![CDATA[ When all else fails you might go with clear with red, tan or garnet tipping.  I am wrapping a boo build right now with Persall&#39;s Gossamer silk in primrose
.  Gives a light pale yellow that you can barely see.  Isn&#39;t as stark as the totally clear wraps.  I am using two turn antique gold for the tipping.  Very
subtle on a blond boo rod. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Just to muddy the waters: If that were my blank I would go with Gudebrod Gold (306) main wraps and dark tipping (black, dark brown, chestnut, garnet, or claret
would all go well). The gold will go translucent and almost match the blank and you will see a bit of color at the guide feet which will look great. You could
also go light trim wraps- NCP white or NCP tan would be my choices.

wraps are red with CP and tipped in black and white jasper. I played with a lot of colors and decided on something to brighten up the matt blank.  I also
considered several shades of green, especially a light olive shade.

			<description><![CDATA[ Great method to suit your fancy. Just remember, the more distinctly contrasting the wraps, the less attention to the subtle finish of the blank itself. So in
my aesthetic, I like a rod with guides on it rather than a rod with wraps on it. I want the wraps unobtrusive, and as short (about 10 turns) over the guide
foot as possible. Complementary shades bring out the blank finish much more than contrasting shades. When the wrap color/finish itself is more conspicuous, I

			<description><![CDATA[ Light, light yellow or white. No color preserver. Just about disappears on just about any blank color. Use the water method to see what it will look like. Your
spar must be thinned and warmed so the first coat soaks into the wraps rather than being on them; it should soak in just like the water does. Eight wrap trim
if you want it. I wouldn&#39;t bother except at the hookkeeper and a few inches up from that. For a slightly more refined approach to color selection, try
