I received my 1954 W&M catalog today and was surprised to find my TRU CAST rod in it.

I will refinish it this winter. Does anyone know how I can recolor the reel seat?

Thanks Tom. I don't Know if there is anyone doing anodizing in Boise or not (closest city at 180 miles) I don't plan on doing a complete redo, just
clean up the previous owners mess. Most guides are rewraped and sealed with red nail polish. It was well fished for sure.
Middlemac I love history as well.

You might call around to some of your local companies that do anodizing work. At worst, they can etch off the old anodize and apply a new layer, followed by
dying and sealing.

The simplest thing to do is clean the old part up with soap and water and drop it in some maroon/red RIT dye. Seal the piece in boiling water for about 15
min, which will probably lighten the dye in the process.

Other than some dirt on the grip and honest wear, the rod doesn't look too bad....
