Dear All,

There is a photo contest on the link above, thought you might interested in attending. see the link for detail.

The prize is a new Redington Fly reel with optional reel size.

Since we have a lot of photo gigs in this website as well, I am thinking maybe we can do some photo contest in the
future? The prizes may come from FF industry or from our members here. It would be good to see how they run the contest and we will have our own fun...

Alan, great points.I agree. Mid-Provo is so special to me, (even I know some people trash it as combat fishing ground) every year I visit there, it almost like
a worship ceremony journey to the holy land. I wish this overpopulated trout river maintain their shape for years to come. Then I can teach my kids to catch
trout in the spot that I landed my first. : )

As always, well thought out and I know that you take your fiberglass rods, photography, and fishin to heart. I agree that the angling experience is a varied
one. In C&R areas or within a C&R spirit, you are spot on that some organizations really promote good practices, good training, and good support. I
admit my bias and cynicism often blinds me to any corporate entity that promotes a strategy to do "the right thing." Please understand that I live in

Yes, very true, as a blood sport there are so many gray areas and motivations. For example, one of yuhina's fine points that (please correct me if I am in
error) photos and a release may take the place of previously mounted trophies. I think that is one evolution that has occurred with C&R fishing areas -
when appropriate. As to statistics, it is well researched( and logical I think) that time out of the water directly affects a played fish's mortality rate...

Yuhina,
I believe that the intial post led us to a corporate entity that combined a photo contest with a Catch & Release sentiment. I believe that within my
response I cited "the contest." The angling experience of the contest is "release a fish."

I simply made the point that pictures (to varying degrees -with certain posed shots most extreme) would be in conflict (I do not need to rehash my points) with

Second, "Trophy" is the definition under your rule. Some people like to mount trophy, some people like to take photos. I have no opinion against
mounting a fish, just follow the rule. I like native fish, any native fish is trophy to me. I took a lot of picture of my trophy, under a proper handling.

My opinions in no way relate to the intentions and rules of this contest. I would need to learn far more. While i know that the contest does state that
properly handled fish have a greater chance for survival, any time out of the water and any handling can easily directly effect the mortality rate of that
fish. Yes, it is variable, and does...
