The EVA disks started out at about 1/8" thick but they compressed down to about 1/32" during the glueing/compression process, so the bands you see in the photo are about 1/32".

Funny, I actually have pretty well that exact grip about halfway made. I rough sanded it down, and then got sidetracked, and it's been there for about 2 months now. I just thought the rings on your grip looked thinner than the ones on mine.

Well, I have a great idea of what it will look like when I finally finish it up now!

The trim rings in the cork are approximately 1/8" thick pieces I cut off a block of EVA foam that compress down in the glueing/clamping process.

Usually just lurk but had to come out and comment on the beauty of those Browns, especially the bright red on the adipose and tail fins. The rod isn't too shabby either!

Well I've had a chance to get out about 8 times now with the new 7' 3wt 3pc DGlass rod / Battenkill 3/4 click/pawl combination thus far this year and I have to say I couldn't be more pleased with the combination. The rod is simply a joy to fish! I can't rember having this much fun in the past or being more excited with anticipation over my next outing. Here are a few shots from some of my recent outings.
