I also fished the Nueces River this weekend. I was fishing about 40 miles down river from Guadalupe Bass. Like GB posted, the scenery and the fishing were
equally enjoyable.

I was fishing my 7' Browning Silaflex with a Browning MZ34 and also my 7"6" Orvis Power Flex with a 3.5" Pridex Lightweight. The flies
included cat's whiskers, poppers, woolies ...

Check out the black fins on this one

Caught a lot of these

Les - This was my first trip to the Nueces and I would agree that the river looked a little low. As you probably know, this area of Texas is in an extreme to
exceptional drought condition. Even considering the drought condition, the water was very clear, with some good flow and with plenty of fish. The Alamo Fly
Fishers club held their "One Fly" contest (same weekend) and one of the winners had a fish count of about 120 (all C&R). I saw some monster
bass cruising the shaded...

Ha, that's really pretty funny. I like your taste in rods and reels!
That's funny - almost identical gear, same river, same day.

Well, like they say, great minds think alike.

Is that Powerflex a 6wt?

Ed,
That area looks beautiful. I'm a real fan of the Nueces with its Gin clear flows, but from the photo it seems a bit low. Still a heck of a way to spend an
afternoon.
