My older grey CFO's are all click pawl so they have a different back and the writing is smaller cursive type writing.

Rich, the bronze reel built in 2003-05 or so was never made in England, this is straight from Orvis customer service. I did hear that some were shipped in boxes that said Made in England, but it was only written on the boxes. This is the one I'm talking about.

The one thing is the overseas reels had a different (larger) reel foot on them.



The Bronze CFO was being made in England prior to the move...I just sold one.

Thats what I thought and that is a sad day. The history is what made Orvis with their quality and tradition. What would it cost for the reels to be made in England? Another 20 bucks a reel?
