It's a 6'6" 2 pc 'glass' 4 sided rod with a 14" cork handle allowing the reel seat to slide down for a fly fishing reel or slide up
to mount a spin fishing reel - haven't figured out how to keep the reel seat from moving around yet. Anyway, does someone know when this model was
manufactured? Did W&M make any other 4 sided rods?

leatherman, I have several W&M rods with that kind of reel seat...I personally don't care for them much because the ring that tightens on the threads
never seems to tighten evenly over the reel foot.

As for posting photos, check out the thread pinned to the rod pictures section. I'd love to see a photo as well.

Thank you both for the information. Cofisher, the rod has an actual reel downlocking red aluminum reel seat. The lower band slides easily while the upper
(downlocking) band rides on threads. Your description of the wraps is right on. I would like to post a picture but can't figure out how. $15.95 was a chuck
of change back then.

I think I hit the jackpot leatherneck. The TCSJ was a spinning rod that first showed up around 1954. Wright & Mcgill made a lot of quad solid glass rods
back in the day. The TCSJ was considered a medium action rod compared to the TCD which was medium stiff. The catalog describes the wraps as "very deluxe
spread wraps-black and red nylon." There were 3 other solid glass models; the Nyla Glass, the Favorite and the Toughy. Your rod cost $15.95 at the time.

Hello leatherneck. I believe Wright and Mcgill had a couple of quad models over the years if I'm not mistaken. I can't recall off the top of my head
whether they were all during the W&M era or whether some were during the Eagle Claw era as well. I will pull out my catalogs when I get home this evening.
