Well they are a favorite and much used rod of mine, as you can see by my examples, they are well fished. the little rod is an easy grab when it comes to
fishing waters that could create problems for me. With these rods I can toss em for whatever and save myself. Something I failed to do quite a few years ago to
my regrete. They fish great, but the cost is low, you can enjoy them but not go crazy saving them in a do or die situation. I love the little rods, have
replacements for them too,...

Thanks, Richard, very helpful! The pictures nailed it. If anything, mine's in better condition than any in your photos, so I guess it's what you called
a "near mint closet example."

What's even more important, to me, is that since it was a 1967 model rod, it was probably purchased by Col. Schubauer as he was working to help found our
TU chapter, which was chartered in 1968.

I'm now more interested than ever to get it out, line it up, and fish it....

Good Morning mickfly,
Your little rod is a real fun one for sure. One of my all time favorites for close work under tree cover along our local river. While its not a Phillipson, it
is one of the few glass 6 1/2ft rods that has alot of us looking for them. Their a fishing rod, not really collectable, at least not yet, everyone I know that
has one fishes them. They are reasonably low cost for an honest to goodness fly rod, so you can take them where you wouldn't normally take your high...

Small world, at least in fly fishing circles. Thanks for the info, Andy, and for the name correction. I haven't yet fished the one piece, but it's
gotten a workout in the "back 40" next to the creek. I look forward to fishing with it and will post a report when I do.

Hello
That's Old Yankee Rod Smiths and I am glad I helped rekindle you're appreciation for fine glass.
The right set up is simple a correct balancing reel and a 5 or 6 weight double taper and you're off and running.
You should have fun with the 2535 B no worries overloading it with a 7 weight for bass or where presentation is less of a issue.
As Joe mentioned it will toss a bullet line.

Thanks to all! It looks like I have my "work" cut out for me, trying all the various lines and situations.
Yeah, Joe, you keep feeding my glass habit. The little Diamondglass three weight has seen plenty of action in Sloan Creek, here behind my house, and I'm
still experimenting with the right setup for the Yankee Rodsmith Conolon Wulff one piece that started it all.

My 2535C loves a WF7 - it's a pocket rocket and can fire bullets into amazingly tight spaces. It's a dynamite rod for bass and heavier panfish
applications where short casts and heavy cover make accuracy more important than reach. Fish it and you'll fall in love with glass all over again.

Hello
The rod is certainly fishable the collection value would be something you need to decide.
The rod is not a collectible in it self but with the history you have shared it may be collectible within your TU chapter.
The value of the rod is around 100 bucks in pristine condition with the original bag and tube maybe a bit more.
If it were mine I would take it fishing as that's what is was made for and who knows maybe some good luck from the Col.goes along with it....

Mickfly,
Those are neat little rods. I have the 2535B. The five "Dots" are likely stars, which makes it the 5 star model, which was pretty much
to-of-the-line. Mine is a bit too fast for my liking esp with a 6wt, but still is a fun, acurate tool, paired with an automatic reel mine has caught a zillion
fish.
,Collectable, well, they are well regarded here, but really is a FISHING rod. and sell in the $40 to $100 range depending on the phase of the moon.
