Mr. Mailman delivered me a beauty today. It is marked as a Heddon Tubular Glass #702 7 1/2':

I almost didn't bid on it because I didn't recognize the rod number and couldn't find it in the wiki. Could it be one of those earliest Heddon
glass rods produced before the Pal series? It is very similar to my 8'6" Heddon Deluxe T-70. The reelseats, except for color, the ferrules and the

Long time no see! Welcome back! Your photos of early Heddons is what got me chasing the painted ones in the first place.
My 702 has a tip that is maybe 1/8" longer, probably because they didn't allow for the extra length of the tip top before mounting. I'm not sure
that it would make as big a difference to the value as a short tip. There is something that just bugs me about short tips that doesn't bother me with

Duff, I think most of the Heddon signatures were done by women and that may have been their only responsibility. Very unique way to complete a rod for sale.
Tom, we should also consider the fact that after the 2nd world war the economy was booming compared to the earlier depression. People had jobs, were buying
houses, flyrods and fishing were still really good. Glass was "new technology" back then.
