Further to my enquiry on the Phillipson "Special", I also have a Wright & McGill, "Holiday", 5A, 7 1/2. This rod has an oval
"hammer" handle, Nickel silver ferrules and a Goodwin-Granger Pat. reel seat. Dark brown blank, similar to the Phillipson, with red wraps tipped
with black.

Does this rod have any value and how old would it be?

I also have 2 Fenwick "Ferallite" glass rods that we fished with in the 70's, a FF85 and a FF108, both...

Keith,
You are right, see Fly Rods For Sale.
Originally, I was only trying to find out if the rods mentioned were collectable and I chose that category.

Gary,
Old Fenwicks are worth a few buck regardless of length. Lots of FF85's go for $50 to $100. I would be interested in either Fenwick, although it is begining
to look like this thread might want to move to "Fly Rods For Sale"

Howard,
I have a number of fibreglass rods, mostly fly rods. We fish graphite in the local lakes and double handed salmon for steelhead but I have an affection for
bamboo in streams. I have promised my wife to divest myself of other tackle and a number of Hardy reels.
I would be interested in selling the Wright & McGill, with bag and a leather case, and would be pleased to email pics. I see from your profile that you
have quite a collection and I can say that this one is in...

Gary I would echo what oldschoolcane said and add this. I have the same Holiday with the hammer handle. (which I thought was done after the rod was made) I
really enjoy fishing it. I was told it was a 5 wt and I fish it with a either a DT5 or WF6 and enjoy it tremendously even though I don't like the hammer
handle. You don't see many of these around and I've only seen one or two come up on ebay in the past few years. Enjoy it and if you don't want it
let me know.

The WM is valuable as a collectible and for fishing with, however the WM Sweetheart's seem to be the most popular. Dollar value? Just my opinion, unless
your going to sell the rod why worry about what its worth? Maybe $50, I'd just fish it and enjoy owning a vintage rod.
