really lousy cork on my example.) I put another summer find on it - a Cabelas Cahill .5 (Hardy Marquis knock off) that came with a newish SA Ultra 4 WF4 and
it made a really nice combo - I have about $30 in the whole outfit. The balance is nice and the reel sounds very Hardy-like. It kind of makes you wonder

Hi All;

As far as reels on my Pro Crests, I've used a pflueger 1494 & Pro Crest reel(marting 65). As Wacokid mentioned they both need a little weight to
balance the rod. With the 1494 I used 30lb dacron backing to fill the spool and it balanced well as is. With the Pro Crest reel I used a little lead core
fishing line to get it to balance. to accomplish this I wound the line on tip first then added lead core on top till it balanced the rod. this is real easy to
do if you...

#1 I only have metal ferrules Pro Crests, always wanted a tip over butt, just never happened
#2 BOth rods faily slow actioned. FR2000 is lighter rod, if rated 5/6 more of a 5 than a 6. I have a 8.5 6/7 FR2000 that I have used with a 5wt.
#3 My Fr2000's are similiar to my Parametrics. Softer than comparable Fenwicks.

#4 FR2000 prettier rod than Pro Crest IMHO. Gotta say, I kinda like the color of the ProCrests.

have'nt aquired/won any yet.
The 7 1/2' metal ferruled model is a true 6wt for me, faster than either of the 8' models. Both 8' models are much better with a wf5 line for me. I

I'll be sure to add my 2 cents when my metal-ferruled Pro-Crest 8'0" 6/7 wt gets here. I'm guessing that the metal ferrule may speed up the
action a bit compared to its glass-ferruled counterpart.

My ProCrest is a 7 1/2 ft 5/6 wt. It is a great rod with a glass ferrule, downlocking reel seat, and a soft action. Wacokid has perfectly described the color
