Picked this one up recently and it arrived today...

8' 5/6wt. Graphite/Boron Vince Cummings from the mid/late 80s...

sweet action and i'd say a 4/5wt... IMHO a 6 would kill this rod.

cool wood seat, very comfy grip, and Vince's unique signature. this was the favorite of the gentleman i purchased it from and i hope to fish it often... i've always wanted a Cummings rod and his glass has eluded me so far... this is a very nice substitute for...

Dave Lewis was a friend and a fine rod builder. His wrap work was exceptional. I own several of Dave's graphite and glass rods. The combination of grip style, cherry burl spacer and Lemke hardware drew me to this 7' 6" for 3/4. I suspect Dave would have preferred a simpler reel - a Pflueger Progress perhaps - but the Perfect seems a good match. I've never fished this rod, and I've considered parting with it because I have too many 7' 6" rods, but I'm not...

I got one of the last (maybe the last) Scott Yellows from Mike McFarland in this size. He sold it to me as a blem as it had some thin black streaks scattered throughout, so I go a good deal. Here are some pics of my latest build,
another Riffle blank from the Kettle Creek tackle shop.

This one is the 6'8" 3/4 blank, which in my hands, is definitely a #4.

I wanted to keep this one as light as possible,
and opted for Phil's cap + ring seat, with cork spacer.

Mark at Gypsy Rod Works Just sent me these photos. I don't have the rod yet it just whent out today but by the looks of the photos its turned out sweet.

Well, this will be my last Lami build.......until Lamiglas ship out the traditional honey blanks.
The idea of this built comes from Gypsy. Rattan grip with transparent spiral wrap which he borrowed from Mark/Yuhina..
Now I shamelessly borrowed the spiraled thread over clear white silk from both of them and they deserves full credit for the idea.

After way too long, Ray's 8' and 8'6, 9 weight rods are complete. Sorry it took so long, I hope he will enjoy them for many years to come. I wanted to share a few photos of my new Pearow built 7' 3/4 Riffle rod. I was able to fish it a little before work today as well as during my lunch break and REALLY like how smooth it is.

I've been working on and off on this pair for a few months and am glad to say they're finally done!

I had an idea to do two rods identically but with contrasting details.. as you can see there's a light version and a dark version of this rod...

both feature a slim 5.5" cigar grip w/ a unstained tiger maple seat flared into the grip, emerald agate stripper, and very light green wraps... i enjoyed building on a light colored blank where the thread color was...
