I have an old yellow Fenwick blank model SP782 that I bought several years ago and never built. The blank is brand new as it arrived in a sealed plastic envelope but I have no real idea what a built rod from this blank would be like? The rod looks like it's made out of tan cloth, has sliding band reel seat and has taller then average guides and the guides are all clearish agate. The wraps are black.

Rod has bag and came in black fiber tube. The rod also has an Abercrombie and Fitch price tag on it for about $24.

Does anyone have experience with this rod. Is it worth a full makeover? It looks like it was a nice rod, and would still be serviceable if I put on new guides.

I came across these two Uslan rods recently. The rod with black and red wraps is 7 ft long and the rod with green wraps is 7.5 feet long. They are both labeled Uslan Custom Built Rods. The red/black is labeled Model No. 2847 and the green is labled Model No. 29010. I have reaserched the internet for all I can find for the Uslan Rod Company. The main information that I can find is in regards to Nat Uslan who manufactured 5-sided bamboo rods. What a beautiful, healthy river. Large trout are common here and my nephew Henry caught a monster hatch brook last week.

This combo rod is really better suited for spinning gear, so after picking up bream and catfish on it with a Martin tuna can I switched out to my Shakespeare Sigma spinning reel. The reel isn't vintage (unless you consider a decade vintage) but is well-matched to the St Croix. This reel doesn't hold much line, under 100 yds of Stren 4# mono.

When I first got back into fishing about 8 yrs. ago,
spinning-fishing for trout in streams;
I bought some of these unique little lures;
but never actually used them.
(I only spin-fished for Trout for only a few seasons,
before moving-on to fly fishing... 'Rooster Tails' were my mainstays back then.)

Fast-forward to today,
