This is regarding a graphite blank but thought I'd give credit where it's due.
Had to send a discontinued blank back to winston cause the female ferrule on the mid section was cracked. They made up a new section and had it back in my
hands in under 3 wks.
Great service and turn around time.
After I finish this I'll be making a Steffen glass.

didn't care for it as to me it was dead and had no feel. [The Hardy Perfect is totally opposite with it's full flex.] But, if someone could compare the

Anticipated max. casting distance ~35', with an average of 15'-25'.

modern rods are the best and a lot of praise touting how fine they are. I've read many posts about Hardy, Scott, Winston, Steffen etc. Naturally it

What determines a rod's smoothness? I have a theory and am wondering what you folks think. My theory is this:

I believe that your smoothest rod is the one you fish the most. Did you ever notice how when you fish a rod a lot you become extremely comfortable with it
and don't even know you're holding it. You build up a relationship with the rod and it becomes an extension of your arm and you become one with the
rod. If someone were to ask you, you would probably say...

Six weight? You choose on that one. I actually have but one 7 1/2' footer, and it was my very first fly rod. A Tru-Temper Fast Taper model. No line
