I often see the original stalker series fiberglass winston rods bring alot of money on ebay.How are they compaired to the fiberglass rod makers of today?......aurelio

Heddon 3503 7' glass rod?

Hello,
Has anyone ever seen or had a Heddon model 3503 7' glass rod before? If so, any idea on the approximate year it was made and what line weight it might be? I didn't see anything even close in the Wiki.

I haven't received the rod yet, but it supposedly has a Heddon foil sticker on it, but no line weight info. It looks like it has a nice reel seat and ferrule. It is also reportedly white fiberglass, and not painted white, so might turn out to be a cool find....

Unknown to Me - Phantom Eventenvision

I purchased today a fiberglass fly rod, 2 pc, 7ft 1-3/4", white glass with green and gold downlocking reel seat. The reelseat is dark green and the reelseat hoods and locking ring are gold. The butt section is 42 1/4 inches and the tip section is 43 1/2 inches long. I believe the rod is solid glass. The glass rod comes out of the cork grip square and at about 14 inchs from the grip, the glass transitions to round. The wraps are dark green and the eyes and ferrule are nickle plated.....

Orvis Fullflex II vs. Golden Eagle

Does anyone know if these were produced from the same blank? I noticed on the Wiki that they were made at the same time - just before Orvis stopped using Phillipson blanks. Has anyone cast identical models side by side? I have a 7.5 ft Fullflex II that is VERY different from my 7ft Phillipson MF70 (Orvis Fullflex). The Fullflex II is much softer and is similar to how I've heard others describe their Golden Eagles. Thanks in advance....

A week or so ago I mentioned getting what I thought was a Phillipson off ebay. Ridiculously, it was a toss in 2nd rod in an auction for a South Bend "Action rod". I got 'em noth for $10. The ferrule made me think its a Phillipson blank somebody finished out. (Wraps are not uniform width, etc.) It's an 8.5 5/6. Here are a couple of pix. What do y'all think?

History on D.A.M/Fenwick FF80?

Anyone know any history on the FF80 listed on eBay with the D.A.M label included on it?

I know that the Fenwick spinning rods matched up really well with the D.A.M Quick 110/220/330 spinning reels of the late 60s.
Did Fenwick and D.A.M maybe team up for a combo fly rod/reel set-up some time in the late 60s/early 70s?

I have a Russ Peak Zenith glass fly rod that I ordered from Russ after he stopped making glass rods and was making graphite and some with boran. ff909 fenwick and eagle claw trailmaster

I received a n ff909 fenwick yesterday and while I wouldn't call it mint, it's still in very good condition. The one problem is that Fenwick cork sucks. I fixed that up and now the grip is better than new.It sure takes a large reel to balance it.I also received an Eagle Claw 7 1/2 ft 4 pc. 7wt. Trailmaster pack rod.What a neat rod. I thought it would have a really slow soft action. Instead it's got a stiff butt and a nice quick tip.It feels like another good rod for pulling large...

Hardy Fibatube Blanks......anyone remember what they went for last year?

I have (2) of the 9 ft blanks from last year when they were selling in lots on the auction site. I need to clean out the closet and as much as I'd like to think that some day I'll build something with them....chances aren't that good and I should just find them a new home.

I don't remember what they went for or have any idea what is a fair price for (2) but will offer them on the forum if anyone has any ideas.

Greetings I am a new mwmber to this forum and I was glad to find some kindred spirits and lovers of old glass. I recently found a "Fenwick" rod at a flea market. It had no tube or sock but it had all the trappings of a Fenwick Feralite. The Glass is quite a bit darker than other Fenwicks I have seen, it's more of a deep solid burgandy with no translucency. Seemed like a really good deal, only things I could find wrong were frayed thread on female ferrule and lack of original rod sock and tube.

I received two rods this week. One is a Garcia 2536T I bought from Corlay, The other is a Berkley Parametric Deluxe PD41 8' 6" 7 weight. I am looking for some sort of a value on these rods can anyone help?

1. Browning Silaflex Model 322975, Length 5'6", Wt. 2.5oz., 6 Line Serial marked on the butt 577.
Butt section only.
2. Wright Mcgill Sweetheart No. 2A 8 1/2LA- 8 1/2 ft.
All guides have been removed and would need to have new guides and rewraped. Also cork chipped away around reel seat, maybe that whas his hook keeper???

Where's the best place to get Japanese glass?

I have been searching the web lately and have found some interesting glass rods on Japanese web sites. Is there shops or dealers here that import glass? Or do you just have to order from them and pay duties on it when it comes in?
