I know this is not the place for a graphite rod appraisal but I had no where else to go for information on a rod by Vince Cummings..................... sorry.

I found a VC  8 1/2 foot, 4 piece graphite built by VC @ 1977-78.  It is 4 piece and marked for 7-8 weight lines.   This is not a rod I would fish for myself

			<description><![CDATA[ I started flyfishing (or trying) about 45 years ago with a silaflex rod. I never became good at it but found the casting very enjoyable.
<br>
I experienced a hiatus of about 20 years up until the time I returned to Florida. I found that the preferred material for fly rods was no longer fiberglass,
but rather graphite.(bamboo was always out of my league, and difficult with salt water anyway or so I was told) but I never forgot that silaflex rod,and how

because it didn&#39;t rattle. Any way, the advertising tag is still on it, with a drawing of a Kodiak bear and the statement, &quot; Kodiak Fishing Rod,  Built
by American Craftsmen.&quot; Then it says, &quot;Kodiak Corporation, Bessemer, Michigan.  The decal on the rod also has a drawing of a bear, and says,

I figure it was an early  Namco judging  by the  partial label (gold with &quot;Pat pending&quot;)  blue wraps and blue winding check.

The  bottom plug of the  male  ferrule was missing,  Most of the  tip needed re  wrapping as the guides were gone, and there was a decent sized,3/8&quot; scuff
in the  finish that was  down to the  raw glass.

spiral wrap in the blank. The components seem to match Phillipson products of that period. This rod has a similar action to the other 8&#39; Phillipson I have,
but has one less guide in the upper section. Casts a Rio Grande 6wt and all the 7&#39;s with what I would call a medium action. <img... ]]></description>
