Howdy,
I know this is not the place for a graphite rod appraisal but I had no where else to go for information on a rod by Vince Cummings..................... sorry.

I found a VC 8 1/2 foot, 4 piece graphite built by VC @ 1977-78. It is 4 piece and marked for 7-8 weight lines. This is not a rod I would fish for myself but would probably become a safe queen in my collection of odd rods. It is pristine new w/ Vince's clear wrap still on the corks. The tube has...

Purchased from Hardy in London in about 1970. It's for sale, $400. I think that's a bit on the high side for a no tube/ faded bag rod. No?

Garcia Conolon fiberglass fly rod

I have the above fly rod which is 8 ft. 6-7 wt. #2541 4 - piece travel rod. It is also labeled Huron Fishing Tackle Co. Made in Canada. Does anyone know some history of this rod or have opinions about it? Thanks.

I started flyfishing (or trying) about 45 years ago with a silaflex rod. I never became good at it but found the casting very enjoyable.
I experienced a hiatus of about 20 years up until the time I returned to Florida. I found that the preferred material for fly rods was no longer fiberglass, but rather graphite.(bamboo was always out of my league, and difficult with salt water anyway or so I was told) but I never forgot that silaflex rod,and how much I enjoyed casting it. My gear regrets: wish I got a Phillipson Eponite before they started selling for over $300. I'm mad at myself for not grabbing a Peerless reel back when the Fly Fishing Network was around. I'm wondering why I never bought a Redington reel made by Ari T. Hart from Sierra Traders when they were closing out at $160...
PS: I also suffer dollar to GBP and dollar to Japanese Yen angst.

I just bought a Kodiak fly rod at an auction. It was in a rod caddy that I bought thinking it was empty. I don't think anyone knew the rod was in there because it didn't rattle. What is a Winston Glass 5' 3wt worth now days, I thin I gave 400.00 for it several years ago.

I have owned a 8 ft 6 wt Hardy pre-JET rod for a couple years and just love it.

The tip and but section are both marked with a "56" which I had assumed was some kind of serial number.

Today in the mail I received my new 8 1/2 ft 6 wt pre-JET (with the plastic still on the grip ) and it is numbered on the tip and butt "55".

I can't imagine...

I was in an antique store the other day and there was this rod.
Conolon f78 9'
I figure it was an early Namco judging by the partial label (gold with "Pat pending") blue wraps and blue winding check.
The bottom plug of the male ferrule was missing, Most of the tip needed re wrapping as the guides were gone, and there was a decent sized,3/8" scuff in the finish that was down to the raw glass.
The rod came with a Shakespear auto reel for...

I purchased a 6'6" Cortland ProCrest on eBay last week and it arrived Friday. I was hoping for a great little creek rod for panfish and smallmouth bass in the summer. If only it were true...

The extent of packaging was two taped PO boxes and 6 plastic grocery bags scrunched up.

8' LL Bean Phillipson

A rod I picked up from evilbay. I believe it to be a Phillipson made rod from the period after Bill Phillipson bought the company back. White glass with a spiral wrap in the blank. The components seem to match Phillipson products of that period. This rod has a similar action to the other 8' Phillipson I have, but has one less guide in the upper section. Casts a Rio Grande 6wt and all the 7's with what I would call a medium action.

I need someones help on identifying a 7' wonderod that I just purchased---the rod is in great shape except the model number is missing----it has a white blank, burgundy/black wraps, burgundy ferrules and reel seat--it is a 5 wt--sorry, no way to send a picture.
