"Spawning Spectacular" lots of pics

Today Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery held it's annual Spawning Spectacular. A great educational event attended by many conservation and restoration organizations. I belong to the Friends of Craig Brook and I had the very important job of parking cars. I did get some relief and got around to get some pictures and watch some of the Spectacular Spawning

Hello everyone

I happened upon this forum through Clarksclassic, and love what I see. I've posted my first posts regarding ATH reels, and also would like to put one out for sale. My problem however is that I get an error message that I'm not allowed to post a new thread in the "For sale" department. Any clues to why??

this may be an unfair comparison, but i am in the process of purchasing - i think - an abercrombie & fitch 7 1/2 foot 'firehole' ( essentially a phillipson 'peerless' i believe ) and because most of my experience is with phillipson glass ( MF60 and MF70 ) i wondered if anyone has ever fished this rod and how it compares with the feel of glass. another thing to consider is that a lot of my fishing is done in the subsurface and whether that is a consideration i should factor...

I'd like to throw a couple of suggestions into the hat and encourage others do post

Octoberfisch report

octoberfisch was good this past weekend. Me, my wife, and about 13 other FWFFer's went on the trip. Weather was great, and the fishing was awesome. I really didn't partake in the many activities they offered, but did attend the dinner Saturday night, and that was one fine meal!! ESPECIALLY the deep fried jalapenos!! i did catch big fish of the day, and many guads, yellow bellies, longears, and a few blacks. They were killing a muddler tied by Martin Pursh. Hi Guys, just wanted to say I am new to the forum even though I have been viewing it for quite some time. Very interesting topics and experiences. I am an avid fly fisherman preferring to use glass rods and or bamboo rods for most of my jaunts to stream and pond.

I recently bought a "lot" of fly fishing gear from the estate of a 90 year old gentleman. Included in the mix were several (mint condition) sets of Heddon fish prints from the 50-60's?
If anyone has any information on these (including value) it would be most appreciated.

There is going to be a fall meetup the weekend on november 14th in the Shenandoah National Park. I will be hosting this event. We will be camping at big meadows campground on the skyline drive. You can arrive on friday or saturday, it dosen't matter. I will be running up there on friday after class to reserve campsites for the group.

As he may have mentioned, I am the chair of the Southern Council Federation of Fly Fishers Conclave held in Mountain Home, AR in October 2010. We just finished our 2009 'clave last weekend and now are working on next year's program.

I would love to see some glassers at next year's event along with some presentations and programs geared...

I was put on to this by a friend of mine. Figured i'd say howdy. I go to school full time in Harrisonburg, VA. Love the fishing out here.
Feel free to check out my long post in the fishing reports section. I fish glass on the small streams for the brookies of shenandoah national park. That is my favorite kind of angling, hands down. Anyone else on here fish those waters? They are mighty addicting.

Wayne, I read where you aquired a Cortland Crown 9ft. 8wt., what reel will you use on it? I have a Silaflex 322990 8wt. and we may have the same balance issues. Your thoughts please.
